15 October 2007
Production automation system specialist, Contax Ltd, has just entered into an exclusive agreement with ultrasonic specialist, Telsonic UK Ltd, to distribute its ultrasonic metal welding equipment throughout the UK for the wire and contact industry. These products are ideally suited to the automotive industry, or other manufacturing environments that use wire harness applications.*
This new agreement effectively brings Telsonic’s metal welding equipment to the UK. Explained Stuart Hall, Technical Director at Telsonic UK Ltd. “Contax is the perfect distributor for our products. Although we are known worldwide for our ultrasonic equipment, we had not previously concentrated on the UK market. Contax brings the industry knowledge and contacts, and we can supply the right systems. We believe that it will be a very successful partnership,” he said.
“We chose Telsonic as our partner as they were able to offer the best product coupled with excellent support in the UK,” said Phil Shorten, Wire Processing Machines Division Director at Contax Ltd.
“We have offered other ultrasonic equipment to the market in the past, but Telsonic’s systems have the edge. They have over 40 years dedicated experience and produce high quality, technically superb, equipment,” he said.
TelsoSplice
Contax’s flagship product will be the TelsoSplice. A new generation of benchtop wire splicing machines, the TelsoSplice is compact and lightweight, yet capable of splicing cross-sections from 0.2 mm squared to 40 mm squared.
It's features include: a high power range of up to 5000 watts; automatic calibration; fast and secure tool changing; and repeatable welding parameters.
The TelsoSplice is simply constructed, making it safe and easy to maintain. With a touch screen it is very user friendly and can be networked with multiple other systems.
Other Telsonic equipment includes: ultrasonic linear welding systems, ultrasonic torsional welding units and an ultrasonic rotary welding head for a wide variety of plastics and other materials.
