Twister Drive
Contax Ltd - UK
The ProEff Twister Drive is a floor standing unit for twisting wires together. As an alternative to the often used 'drill-in-a-vice' method, the Twister will give a repeatable process, which will not damage the wires. The operator can set the speed and number of turns, and the wires are held under light tension whilst being twisted, to allow contraction of the assembly without stretching the wires. The Twister will reverse twist for a few turns at the end of the process, so the finished assembly ends up straight and manageable. The clamps that hold the end of the cable will not harm the insulation, and any crimps on the rotating end are protected by a shroud, to prevent damage. The untwisted length at the ends of the wires can be adjusted.
The Twister Drive is ideal for longer length wires and if you need to change the twisted length very often. The fixed clamps are on a motorised carriage, which will move to the correct position automatically. For long lengths, the carriage moves to the operator for loading and unloading, so they do not have to walk several metres after every cycle. Customised solutions can be designed for special applications. With all the quality problems that can arise when twisting wires together, it makes perfect sense to use a ProEff Twister to give a good quality, repeatable process.
