Twister
Contax Ltd - UK
The ProEff Twister is a bench mounted unit for twisting two or more wires together. As an alternative to the often used 'drill-in-a-vice' method, the Twister will give a repeatable process, which will not damage the wires. The operator can set the speed and number of turns, and the wires are held under light tension whilst being twisted, to allow contraction of the assembly without stretching the wires. The Twister will reverse twist for a few turns at the end of the process, so the finished assembly ends up straight and manageable. The clamps that hold the end of the cable will not harm the insulation, and any crimps on the rotating end are protected by a shroud to prevent damage.
The Twister is in two parts, and by moving the passive unit along the bench, different wire lengths are accommodated. The untwisted length at the ends of the wires can be adjusted. Customised solutions can be designed for special applications. With all the quality problems that can arise when twisting wires together, it makes perfect sense to use a ProEff Twister to give a good quality, repeatable process.
