Contax was established in 1982. The name 'Contax' came from its two principal suppliers at the time - Contact Systems, a US company specialising in PCB assembly and Komax, a Swiss manufacturer of wire preparation machines. Over the years the company has expanded its expertise and process knowledge into other related areas. In addition Contax has developed high levels of knowledge and experience in the implementation of quality automation solutions and an expertise in providing complete production lines including integrating third party equipment.

An essential part of Contax's philosophy is customer care and this has led the company to considerably strengthen its support department in recent years. All our 5000 plus installations are supported by our own team of experienced engineers.

Contax maintains strong relations with all of its suppliers. This continuous process not only guarantees our customers access to the latest developments, it also ensures that our engineers are kept up to date with the very latest processes. Contax is wholly owned by its Directors and Staff, with over one-third of employees being shareholders.
